Our Lead Pastors

Pastor Ed and Pastor Barb Leanza are Ohio natives who came to CCNaz in 2017.  They strongly believe in the family unit having three adult children and nine grandchildren.  Their journey in ministry began in the late 80's in their home church in rural Irondale, Ohio.  CCNaz is the first church where they officially signed on as co-pastors.

Pastor Ed served for 23 years in Youth Ministry before becoming a lead pastor. He first felted called to ministry early in his faith as he read and studied 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. He heard God’s calling on his life as he connected with the scriptures and with the apostle Paul’s own calling in to ministry with the words “becoming all things to all (people), that he (Paul) might win some.”

Pastor Barb has served faithfully by Pastor Ed’s side ever since he started ministry as a youth leader. She believes that her calling has always been and still is to “help the church become the church that Christ intended it to be.” And through the years, she’s done whatever was needed to fulfill that call. Her life scriptures, the ones she believes solidify her call to ministry are found in 1 Thessalonians and Galatians.

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” (1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NASB 1995)

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17 ESV)

Pastor Ed is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College and Trevecca Nazarene University. He is passionate about learning. He enjoys spending time with people discussing theology and doing life together. He believes in life-long learning and always strives to challenge himself to be 'stretched' as he studies the Scriptures.

Pastor Barb is also a graduate of the Nazarene Bible College and Point Loma Nazarene University. She is skilled in organization and structure. She loves to write curriculum and is very involved in ministry throughout the Church and in the community. Pastor Ed says she is the 'creative one' and she is often called upon to spruce up the message.

Together, the pastors are leading CCNaz to be a nurturing place for all who come.  They trust that God is moving in each person’s life. The pastors are driven to change the world by connecting people to the truth of God's love and acceptance through Jesus Christ. They believe the freedom found in Christ gives everyone hope for a life filled with purpose.
